Welcome to my site... My focus is on Quality Affenpinchers. I show in both Canada and the US, and my Affens are registered with the Canadian & American Kennel Clubs . Lakewood is located in Surrey, B.C., Canada. We are close to both Vancouver and the Washington - B.C. Border. Although we do love having visitors please call ahead of time to arrange an appointment.
I also offer grooming with a focus on hand stripping terriers for show and pet.
Lakewood's History -
I have admired the Affenpinschers from a far for years. Coming from the terrier group, their temperament was very close to my first breeds - Jack Russells; Border Terriers and Norwich Terriers. After talking to the handlers of this unique breed I decided they were just what I wished to have in a small dog. I now only have Norwich Terriers and Affenpinschers.My travel partner and co-breeder of the Norwiches, Heather Tomlins, helped me find a breeder. After waiting for a few years and corresponding there was finally a puppy for me. This first breeder was Nenne Runsten from Sweden. She also has had Norwich so with mutual ties she agreed to send me my first Affenpinscher, Am. Ch. Airescot Snow Scooter. Scooter has been a great ambassador to the breed for me. Scooter has finished quickly in the US and is almost done in Canada too. He comes from a healthy and free whelping line...
After finding Nenne, I also found Pam Peat. She sent me my first girl "Pramada Naughty Nightingale (Fly). Just after Fly arrived I got an email from Mieke Cooymans in Holland saying she had a girl for me also! It was just around Christmas so little Nthanda (Panda) was a good Christmas present from my husband Dave.
So now I have a full family! I still have my good old Border Terrier "Tracer", and also a young Norwich Terrier "Fizz"...
I look forward to the future with my new breed.
